E is for Enhance your build.
The way to enhance your build is to have as little questions possible to answer during the build. There will be 101 questions thrown your way. Sometimes you have time, other times, they need an answer in a day. That is the speed a project can move in. And if they don’t have an answer, they move on to the next project that is ready for them. That’s generally where people panic.
I know this because I’ve been there. I was so focused on my clients projects that my project fell to the side lines. I created a poor set of plans because I didn't have the time. Then, during the build, when a question came in, I had to think fast. Luckily, most of the time I could answer on the spot because we were so strong in our vision (thankfully that we gave plenty of time to), but other times I couldn't, or my husband an I disagreed, or what I wanted didn't fit in my budget.
So what if you had them all figured out? What if you already had your window company and style of windows picked, the interior trim detail designed, or the front door including stain chosen. Wouldn’t that be amazing. Get as many questions answered before you start construction.
So let's get you started. This isn't a list of companies and materials you need to make decisions on but a guide and checklist in understanding the process. From initial documentation to final inspection and everything in-between, understanding your process will absolutely enhance your build.
