C is for Community support.

Having a community around you that you can turn to for advice has its pros and cons. Most of the time, I hear about the downsides. They either come from people who have never gone through a new home or a renovation, they’re family who don’t live the way you live, or realtors who, while they might see trends that are happening - they’re just that - trends.

It doesn’t mean that any of the feedback or advice you hear is a good idea. Or right in any way.

Take one client of mine, for example. They’d bought a property on their realtor's recommendation, expecting to build a carriage home. Unfortunately, they soon found out that the zoning didn’t allow it. Even more challenging, they were already at maximum site coverage.

Another client had a well-meaning friend sketch a floor plan on graph paper, suggesting it could be a great option for their new home. The problem? It didn’t work.

These experiences highlight why it’s crucial to get advice confirmed by a qualified professional, in their specific field. A supportive community is invaluable, but accurate advice is priceless.

The beauty of a community of people who are going through exactly what you're going through is when one person asks a question, everyone benefits from the answer. This creates a group learning experience where you learn a lot more from other conversations in addition to the support and education you receive, just like what we're doing here inside Homeowner HQ's Concrete Method and our private headquarters, The Home Hub.

Ask your question, sign up for our live call and have others benefit from the answer. And if you can't make it live, we will add the replay here inside of the Concrete Method.
