PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION: I'm your typical under-the-sink-garbage-bin type of person. I actually hate when I check under the sink and it's not there. But once you go organized, you can't go back.

Right beside the sink we installed a 3-in-1 garbage, recycling, and compost unit with a cabinet front. The garbage and recycling bins are the same size with a small composting bin (with handles to carry to your outdoor compost) and a small bin to hold cleaning supplies, garbage bags, etc. They also come with a built-in lid over the entire unit to keep odours from spreading and the “soft motion” close. This brand, Richeleiu, came recommended by our kitchen company but you can find a similar product with Hailo.
