2006
Potts Design & Co.
Growing up on her father’s job sites, building luxury multi-million dollar estates, Chelsey’s passion for home design started early. In 2006, she founded Potts Design & Co., working with hundreds of homeowners and industry professionals—developers, contractors, engineers, and designers—including her husband, a civil contractor.
2018
Property & Pregnancy
After nearly 20 years and 200+ projects, Chelsey and her family began developing two homes and a barn on a 15-acre property—future estate in the making. Oh, and amidst purchasing property and rezoning, they welcomed their daughter into the world. Big milestones, big dreams—all in one unforgettable year.
2018
Howe Sound Excavating
As if 2018 wasn’t already packed, Troy launched Howe Sound Excavating, offering residential excavation, site services, rock wall, and landscaping construction after 2 decades in the industry. Juggling a new business, a growing family, and developing a 15-acre property made this year one for the books. Re-zoning and land clearing also took place at the property.
2019
HGTV Feature & Design
In 2019, one of Chelsey's home designs was featured on HGTV Canada’s Worst to First as the inspiration home—a proud moment for her career. This was also the year the family tackled their biggest project yet: designing, permitting, and breaking ground on all three buildings for their 15-acre property. It was a year of creativity, hard work, and bringing big visions to life.
2020
Construction & Covid
In 2020, they got their house to lock-up just as Covid hit. Construction came to a halt until the industry boomed, bringing chaos with it. To keep things moving, they were forced to live apart—Troy at work and the rest of the family on-site, balancing the build and too many house designs. The year was anything but easy, but through it all, they remained safe, healthy, & focused on moving forward.
2022
Homeowner HQ
In 2022, the spark of Homeowner HQ began. Chelsey started consulting clients through their new builds & renovations, guiding them and answering their questions along the way. But between client work, raising a child, and managing their own build, Homeowner HQ was still just a seed of what it is today—a resource built from the realization that homeowners need better tools and support.
2024-2025
A New Chapter
This year marked the culmination of years of dedication and vision. We passed our final home inspection and Homeowner HQ took major strides with the launch of our website, private consulting, and a directory of trusted professionals and products. With The Concrete Method and our signature offer, The Home Hub, on the horizon, we’re excited to empower homeowners with even more tools to navigate their projects confidently.
