Day 1

Day 1

Windows and Exterior Doors

Contact your Contractor and find out which window and door company or companies they have chosen based on your budget. Schedule a meeting with their showroom so you can see them in person and try them out for yourself. Review the plans with them and go over window and door styles, opening directions, materials, colors, etc.

☝🏼 Don’t forget skylights. Choose between fixed or openable (manual or electric), colors, etc.

Hot tip: During the framing stage, go through the home with your Contractor and Architect/ural Designer, before the windows and doors are ordered, and double check opening directions, door swings, window heights, locations / sizes, etc. Yes, changes will cost you extra with your framer but save you a lot more discussing it now than later.

$ Saver: Check out this article to see if there are any rebates and incentives on upgrading your windows.
