Product Range:
Carlisle manufactures made-to-order solid and engineered hardwood flooring in a variety of North American wood species, including white oak, walnut, maple, hickory, ash, cherry, and pine. Customers can customize plank widths, lengths, grades, textures, colours, finishes, and installation formats to create one-of-a-kind flooring for residential and commercial projects.
Design Philosophy:
Carlisle believes every floor should be as unique as the home it lives in. Rather than producing standardized flooring, the company focuses on bespoke craftsmanship, using slow-growth American hardwoods and artisan finishing techniques to create floors with exceptional character, authenticity, and longevity. Their philosophy emphasizes timeless design over trends, producing flooring intended to last for generations.
Customization:
Virtually every aspect of a Carlisle floor can be customized, including wood species, plank width (up to 20 inches for solid flooring), plank length, grade, texture, sheen, colour, finish, and construction (solid or engineered). Carlisle also develops completely custom stain colours and finishes for architects and designers seeking truly one-of-a-kind flooring.
Manufacturing:
Every Carlisle floor is handcrafted to order in Stoddard, New Hampshire. The company mills its own lumber, hand-grades each plank, and uses skilled artisans throughout the manufacturing process. Their engineered flooring features a thick 4 mm wear layer of solid American hardwood bonded to a marine-grade Baltic birch core, providing exceptional stability while maintaining the appearance and longevity of solid wood.
Performance & Construction:
Carlisle offers both solid and engineered flooring designed for decades of use. Engineered products are CARB2 compliant, use formaldehyde-free adhesives, are MAS Green® certified, and can be sanded and refinished multiple times thanks to their thick hardwood wear layer. Floors are available in long plank lengths—up to 12 feet—reducing seams and creating a more seamless appearance.
Sustainability:
The company responsibly sources slow-growth hardwoods from North America and focuses on maximizing yield from every log. Carlisle emphasizes long product lifespans, low-emission manufacturing, and responsible forestry practices, producing flooring intended to last for generations rather than requiring frequent replacement.
Retail Presence:
Carlisle products are sold through an exclusive network of flooring dealers, design showrooms, architects, and builders throughout North America and internationally. The brand is frequently specified for luxury residential homes, boutique hospitality projects, and custom architectural applications.
Customer Service:
Carlisle provides personalized design consultation, custom sample development, specification assistance, technical support, installation guidance, and dedicated project management throughout the design and ordering process.
